Field experiment was conducted during rabi 2015-2016 at Instructional Agronomy Farm of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur. The experiment consisted of thirteen treatments (pendimethalin at 750 g ha-1; sulfosulfuron at 25 g ha-1; metribuzin at 210 g ha-1; clodinafop at 60 g ha-1; pendimethalin fb sulfosulfuron at 1000 g + 18 g ha-1; pendimethalin + metribuzin at 1000 g + 175 g ha-1; sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron at 30 g + 2 g ha-1; pinoxaden + metsulfuron 60 g+4 g ha-1; mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron at 12 g+ 2.4 g ha-1; cloinafop + metsulfuron at 60 g+ 4 g ha-1; one hand weeding at 30 DAS; two hand weedings at 30 and 45 DAS; weedy check).Pendimethalin and metribuzin alone and their tank mixture were applied as pre-emergence while all other herbicides or mixtures were applied as post-emergence at 35 days after sowing The thirteen treatments were replicated thrice in Randomize Block Design. Wheat variety Raj.-4037 was used as test crop. All the weed control treatments resulted in significant reduction in density and dry matter of both categories and total weeds at different growth stages in wheat crop. Despite variations amongst herbicidal treatments in respect of control of broadleaf and grassy weeds, the mixtures of herbicides brought about maximum degree of reduction in total weeds compared to their alone/singly application. The maximum total weed control efficiencies (79.30, 80.98 and 87.98 per cent) were achieved by applying sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron mixture. Maximum crop dry matter accumulation (463.57 g metre-1 row length) was obtained by applying sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron. The values of yield attributes viz. effective tillers metre-1 row length, grains ear-1 and test weight were maximize under the effect of sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron. Maximum grain yield (6022 kg ha-1) was acquired by controlling weeds by sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron which was at par with that obtained by mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron (5798 kg ha-1). Highest biological yield (12511 kg ha-1) was exhibited by sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron, while maximum straw yield (6530 kg ha-1) by sequential application of pendimethalin fb sulfosulfuron. All the weed control treatments resulted significantly increased N, P, K uptake by grains and straw of wheat crop compared to weedy check. The highest total nitrogen (164.62 kg ha-1), phosphorus (35.46 kg ha-1) and potassium (127.12 kg ha-1) uptake were registered with the application of sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron. As a consequence significantly higher net returns and BC ratio (` 85,566 ha-1 and 2.02, respectively) a were obtained by (sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron) which were at par with mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron (` 81,265 ha-1 and 1.94, respectively).en_US
