Abstract
The costliness of energy, forces the farmers to choose another cost-efficient tillage methods. Combined tillage is the way in which two or more different tillage implements operates at the same time in order to manipulate the soil and reduce the number of passes and time of field operations. Various combinations of tillage tools were developed with active and passive tillage tools which were complicated in design, very massive and costly. Therefore, to achieve this objective, design and development of low cost combined tillage was planned at CAET, AAU, Godhra. The Newly developed combined tillage tool comprises of fine soil working tools and and one cylindrical clod crusher. The soil working tool was designed by taking a pair of shares of mould board plough with inclination to the horizontal as 15° and the apex angle of 45° at the centre a bar point share was provided for better penetration. The soil working tool was mounted on tyne. The tyne was fixed to the main frame of the tool with bracket and Uclamps. The clod crusher was developed using 20 mm used box pipe with 152 cm length, which was supported on a circular pipe of 50 mm dia.
