Abstract
Backyard poultry farming is an important
subsidiary occupation for the rural people. The
crossbred backyard poultry strain Namakkal
chicken-1 was introduced to improve the produc-
tion performance and increase the income over
traditional backyard poultry. A study was
conducted among 50 farmers in Tamil Nadu
to assess the constraints encountered by the
farmers. Data collected were converted into
ranks by using‘ Garret’s ranking technique.
