Abstract
A field investigation entitled Performance of new genotypes of paddy in different spacings and seed rates under drilled condition was carried out at the farm of Agronomy Section, College of agriculture, Nagpur during the kharif season of 2018. Experiment was laid out in factorial randomised block design with two varieties viz., V1-Poornima, V2-Indira aerobic-1; two row spacings S1-20 cm, S2- 30 cm and two seed rates of SR1-50 kg ha-1, SR2-75 kg ha-1. There were eight treatment combinations replicated thrice. Sowing was done on 6th July 2018. Growth attributing characters like Plant height (cm), Number of functional leaves plant-1, Dry matter accumulation plant-1(g), Total number of tillers plant-1, Total number of effective tillers plant-1 were significantly influenced by the variety Indira aerobic-1. The yield attributing characters like Total number of panicles-1, Length of panicle (cm), Number of grains panicle-1, Weight of grains panicle-1(g) were significantly influenced and found to be superior in Indira aerobic-1 variety than Poornima variety. Grain yield (kg ha-1), Straw yield (kg ha-1), GMR, NMR and B:C ratio were maximum with Indira aerobic-1 variety. The row spacing of 20 cm had a significant influence on growth attributing characters and produced maximum Plant height (cm), Number of functional leaves plant-1, Dry matter accumulation plant-1(g) Total number of tillers plant-1, Total number of effective tillers plant-1, than the other row spacing of 30 cm. Row spacing of 20 cm significantly influenced the yield attributing characters by producing greater number of Total number of panicles plant-1, Length of panicle(cm), Number of grains panicle-1, Weight of grains panicle-1(g). Grain yield (kg ha-1), Straw yield (kg ha-1), GMR, NMR, B:C ratio were maximum in row spacing of 20 cm. Seed rate of 75 kg ha-1 had a significant influence on the growth attributing characters than seed rate of 50 kg ha-1.The maximum Plant height(cm), Number of functional leaves plant-1, Dry matter accumulation plant-1(g), Total number of tillers plant-1, Total number of effective tillers plant-1 were recorded with seed rate of 75 kg ha-1. The yield attributing characters like Total number of panicles plant-1, Length of panicle (cm), Number of grains panicles plant-1, Weight of grains panicle-1(g) were significantly influenced by higher seed rate of 75 kg ha-1 as compared to 50 kg ha1. The Grain yield (kg ha-1), Straw yield (kg ha-1), GMR, NMR, B:C ratio were observed in seed rate of 75 kg ha-1. Interaction effect of variety, spacings and seed rates were found to be non-significant in all the growth attributing and yield attributing characters, as well as grains and straw yield and economics also.
