Abstract
A field experiment entitled ''Effect of various nutrient sources on wheat in pearlmillet-wheat cropping system'' was conducted during the year 2013-14 at Agronomy Research Farm of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (India). The experiment consisting of twelve treatments was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. Grain yield of pearlmillet was recorded highest in T6 (50% RD-NP + 50% N through FYM). Yield contributing characters were recorded highest in T6 (50% RDNP + 50% N through FYM in pearlmillet and 100% RD-NP in wheat) in wheat crop. Grain, straw and biological yield of pearlmillet increased with increase in inorganic fertilizer dose. In wheat crop, treatment T6 recorded highest growth characters and yield contributing characters. Similarly, Highest grain, straw as well as biological yield was recorded in T6. Highest protein content as well as protein yield was also recorded in T6. Highest grain yield of both pearlmillet and wheat in pearl millet-wheat cropping system was obtained with the application of 50% RD-NP + 50% N through FYM in pearlmillet and 100% RD-NP in wheat. Highest net returns were obtained in T6 where 50% N in pearlmillet was supplied through FYM.
