Abstract
ABSRTRACT
The present study on “The Existing status and agribusiness potential of Acacia
catechu based entrepreneurship in Una and Kangra Districtss of Himachal Pradesh.”
By taking 25 entrepreneurs. There were 17 entrepreneurs of kattha in Una districts and 8
katthaentrepreneurs were in Kangra Districts. This large number of entrepreneurs of katthain
one districts indicates that there is large agribusiness potential of khair based
entrepreneurship. Out of all the respondents 44 % entrepreneurs agreed that the profits from
kattha are encouraging which indicated that there is the great potential of kattha production in
income generation. Unavailability of skilled labor locally, costly raw material, various
government policies, expansion of large scale industries, large capital requirement, distant
markets and requirement of highly skilled labor are the number of problems that are faced by
the kattha entrepreneurs. Proper management of cutch should be done at the production site
and government should impose such policies that encourage local labor to be part of this
katthabased entrepreneurship.
