Abstract
Herbal plants or botanical medicines have been used
traditionally by herbalists worldwide for the prevention
and treatment of liver diseases. in the absence of reliable
liver-protective drugs in modern medicine, a large
number of medicinal preparations are recommended for
the treatment of liver disorders to offer significant relief.
Considerable studies have been carried out on ethno
medicinal plants; however, only few medicinal plants
have attracted the interest of scientists, to investigate
them has hepatoprotectives. Clinical research in this
century has confirmed the efficacy of several plants in the
treatment of liver disease.
