Antibiotic Resistance Patterns of Escherichia Coli Isolated from Calves with Diarrhoea

Abstract
Eighty six E. coli strains from calf diarrhoea, were studied for antibiotic resistance by using 15 different antimicrobials. All were resistant to a minimum of one drug and to a maximum of 12 drugs. Thirty four strains were having common resistant pattern of tet-pol-sul. Resistance to tetracycline, erythromycin, and sulfonamides were more than 80% and all the strains were sensitive to nalidixic acid.
