Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Effect of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Growth, Yield and Quality of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) cv. Pusa Himani” was conducted during the Rabi season in 2023-24 at the Horticulture Farm, Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, Rajasthan. The ten treatment combination for the radish crop was evaluated with three replications under completely randomized design. The results exhibit the significant effect of various treatment combinations on growth, yield and quality parameters of radish during the experimentation. Maximum plant height (11.11 cm, 27.64 cm, 35.79 cm), leaf length (10.30 cm, 25.06 cm, 30.95 cm), number of leaves per plant (4.73, 10.27, 13.53), dry weight of shoot (8.22 g, 10.22 g, 17.46 g), fresh weight of shoot (88.74 g, 157.20 g, 215.9 g) at 20 DAS, 40 DAS and at harvest. Also, maximum root length (26.07 cm), root diameter (3.68 cm), average weight of root (118.07 g), root yield per hectare (286.98 q) and minimum days to harvest (56.93 days) was obtained under treatment T6 (75% NPK + 25% N through vermicompost + PSB). The quality parameters revealed that the maximum value of ascorbic acid (13.9 mg 100 g-1) and chlorophyll content of leaves (0.87 mg g-1) was achieved by treatment T6 (75% NPK + 25% N through vermicompost + PSB) as compared to other treatments. As far as economics is concerned, maximum net return of Rs. 152679 per hectare and highest B-C ratio (3.17) during the course of research was obtained with the application of treatment T6 (75% NPK + 25% N through vermicompost + PSB).
