Abstract
The research work carried out during Mrig bahar (July to December) in 2019 and 2020 at Technology park, CTAE and laboratories of Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur (Rajasthan). It was conducted to investigate the effect of organic manures on growth, yield and quality of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cv. Bhagwa. 6 years old 42 pomegranate plants consisted of 14 treatments with different organic manures were tested with randomized block design with three replications. According to findings among all the treatments, the application of organic combination level T13 - Jeevamrut 16.08 L plant-1 + Vermicompost 24.79 kg plant-1 have significantly effect on growth characteristics [plant height (2.61 m), canopy volume (6.37 m3)], floral characteristics [hermaphrodite flowers (149.00), fruit set (54.41 %), duration of flowering (34.17 days) and days to first floral bud emergence (26.50 days), 50% flowering (35.50 days) and duration of fruit set (31.50 days)] and yield characteristics [fruits (122.00) plant-1, fruit yield (17.38 kg plant-1), fruit weight (192.50 g), fruit volume (190.50 cm3)] which was at par with T2 - recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF- 600: 200: 200 g NPK plant-1). The quality characteristics [fruit juice (52.92 %), TSS (13.54 oBrix), ascorbic acid (19.05 mg/100 ml juice), reducing sugar (9.68 %) and total sugar (11.92 %)] of pomegranate cv. Bhagwa, nutritional status [available nitrogen (290.07 kg ha-1), phosphorus (25.58 kg ha-1), potassium (315.58 kg ha-1)] and microbial population [fungi (23.68 x104 CFU/g), bacteria (62.68 x106 CFU/g) and actinomycetes (27.77 x104 CFU/g)] of the orchard soil as the fruits under organic treatments fetches higher market price, as compare fruits under treatment T2 . The highest net return (₹ 201066 per ha) and B: C ratio (1.48) were noted with organic combination level T13 - Jeevamrut 16.08 L plant-1 + Vermicompost 24.79 kg plant-1
