Abstract
The title of this study is"Adoption of rice growers regarding control measure practices of various insect pests of rice crop in Janjgirchampa district of Chhattisgarh." During the years 2020-2021, the research was carried out in the Janjgirchampa district of Chhattisgarh.
Eight villages were chosen at random from two blocks in the JanjgirChampa district, for collection of the data, The data were obtained from the respondents and analysed using relevant statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation, percentage, correlation, and multiple regression.
The bulk of the respondents were in the middle age group, with elementary school education, belonging to another backward class, family size, and participation in one organisation, according to the findings of this study. The majority of respondents dependent on agriculture as their main occupation, and the bulk of the respondents were in the income range of approximately up to 1,10,000 per year ie low income group.
Respondents with a medium level of knowledge information and extension contact face the most difficulties. The majority of respondents had a medium level of knowledge, and it was found that the majority of respondents had a medium level of adoption of various insect pest control strategies. The majority of respondents said that the complicated seed treatment procedure, and a lack of knowledge about appropriate insecticide doses, lack of knowledge resistant varieties, appropriate insecticide selection, and a lack of skill in preparing solution and its application methods were the most significant technical issues.
Knowledge was shown to be positive and significant with adoption level, accounting for 72.30 percent (r2=72.30) variability with adoption level of rice growers about control measures practises of various insect pests in rice crop among the examined variables. With the adoption level, the remaining variables were found to be non significant.
