Abstract
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are short sequences of peptides having generally 50
amino acid residues and are reported in plants and animals. AMPs acts as immunological
barriers and counter microorganism and microbial infections. AMPs can be isolated from
plants and from parts of plants. viz. leaves, roots, seed, flowers and fruits.
Aloe barbadensis belongs to family Aloaceae. Aloe barbadensis contains several
potentially active bioactive compounds. Aloe barbadensis is widely claimed to have
anticancer activity, immunostimulatory, anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory activity. Aloe
barbadensis have been widely reported against range of bacteria and fungi.
