Abstract
The present experiment entitled “Growth, Yield, Fruit Quality and Leaf Nutrient. Status. of Lemon [Citrus.limon (L.) Burm.] cv. Assam Lemon in Response to Foliar Application of Micronutrients” was conducted in the year 2019 on three years old plants of Assam lemon at the Research Farm of Citrus .Fruit, Dept.of Fruit .Sc., CHF, CAU,.Pasighat, Ar.P.The experimental design followed in the investigation was Randomized BlockDesign consisting of12 treatments withthree replications. The treatments comprises of: T1 – Control, T2–Zinc sulphate (0.2%), T3 – Ferrous sulphate (0.2%), T4 - Borax (0.2%), T5 – Copper sulphate (0.2%), T6 – Zinc sulphate (0.2%) + Ferrous sulphate(0.2%), T7 – Zinc sulphate (0.2%) + Borax (0.2%), T8 –Zinc sulphate (0.2%) + Copper sulphate (0.2%), T9 –Ferrous sulphate (0.2%) + Borax (0.2%), T10 –Ferrous sulphate (0.2%) + Copper sulphate (0.2%), T11 - Borax (0.2%) + Copper sulphate(0.2%) and T12 –Zinc sulphate(0.2%) + Ferrous sulphate(0.2%) + Borax (0.2%) + Copper sulphate(0.2%). The final result of the investigation disclosed that. the .imposition of .different .treatments had consequentialeffect on increasing the yield of fruits, enhancing the quality of fruits and the .leaf .nutrient .status of the .plants. Highest no. of .fruits per.plant at.harvesting(73), yield/.plant (11.52 kg), fresh. wt. of. fruit(157.77 g), fruit. length (9.60 cm), fruit .diameter (5.80 cm), juice. content (152 ml), total .soluble .solids(6.40 °B), vitamin C (49.10 mg), total sugar (6.30%), reducing sugar (3.90%), non-reducing sugar (2.40%) with lowesttitratable acidity (3.13%) were obtained in the treatment T12[ZnSO4 (0.2 %) + FeSO4 (0.2 %) + Borax (0.2 %) + CuSO4 (0.2 %)]. Moreover, the maximum total nitrogen (2.53%), total phosphorus (0.14%), Zn (37.60 ppm), Fe (86.57 ppm), B (41.20 ppm) and Cu (27.13 ppm)in leaf were alsoachieved in the same treatment i.e. T12[ZnSO4 (0.2 %) + FeSO4 (0.2 %) + Borax (0.2 %) + CuSO4 (0.2 %)]. Hence, the foliar imposition of ZnSO4 (0.2 %) + FeSO4 (0.2 %) + Borax (0.2 %) + CuSO4 (0.2 %) once (two weeks after fruit setting in the month of April) along with the recommended dose of fertilizers (100:100:100 g NPK/plant/year) may be recommended to obtain the maximumyield and bestquality fruits of Assam lemon.
