Abstract
Injection molding is growing and most promising industry for mass production of plastic products. Increased application on thin wall products leads to various issues relation to plastic molding. Plastic fill and shrinkage is the most crucial quality characteristics on which injection molding industry is concerned for their plastic products. A study is intended to focus the industry and perform a research and investigation of the defects on injection molding machine. This research work was aimed for experimental simulation and moldflow analysis of plastic quality characteristics and flow conditions on injection molding it. Plastic fill and shrinkage values were evaluated to see the effect of melt temperature, mold temperature, injection pressure and fill time on injection molding with polypropylene (PP) material. The Moldflow analysis was also conducted to simulate the flow behaviour of melt plastic inside injection molding machine. The results from Moldflow analysis were verified with the experiment results. It was found that shrinkage value was increased and plastic fill was decreased with increase in melt temperature and mold temperature. Shrinkage decreased and plastic fill increased with increase in injection pressure and fill time
