Abstract
The present investigation entitled was conducted during kharif 2018-19 at Farm of Agronomy section, College of Agriculture, Latur. The soil of experimental plot was medium and black in color with good drainage. The representative soil samples from 0 to 30 cm depth were taken from randomly selected plots all over the experimental field before laying out the experiment. A composite soil sample of about half kg was taken and analyzed for the determination of various physical and chemical properties of soil. The data showed that the chemical composition of soil was as low in available nitrogen (125.3 kg ha-1), medium in available phosphorous (18.20 kg ha-1) and very high in available potassium (498.58 kg ha-1). The soil was moderately alkaline in reaction having PH (7.7). The field experiment was laid out in randomized block design with 10 treatments and replicated thrice under rain fed condition. Treatments were as follows T1- Weedy check,T2- Weed free check, T3- Atrazine 1000 g a.i.ha-1 (PE) fb Halosulfuron-methyl 90 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE), T4- Atrazine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE), T5- Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb halosulfuron-methyl 90 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE), T6- Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb tembotrione 120 g a.i. ha-1 (30 DAS), T7- Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE), T8- Halosulfuron-methyl 90 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE), T9- Tembotrione 120 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE) and T10- 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE). The observed data concluded that application of Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE) is proved to be most effective in controlling weeds, although hand weeding is the best. Application of Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE)) recorded maximum net returns and B:C ratio (65596/- and 2.30 respectively). In quality of protein and starch, Pendimethalin 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PE) fb 2,4-D amine 1000 g a.i. ha-1 (PoE) recorded highest protein and starch percent (11.63% and 62.17% respectively).
