Abstract
A mare was presented with occasional lameness in right hind limb since six months. The seat of lameness was identified and diagnostic procedures such as radiography and ultrasonography were undertaken. Osteoarthritis of inter-tarsal joints was diagnosed and double centrifugally prepared platelet rich plasma was administered intra-articularly. The joint was evaluated after one week, one month and two months period. After two months of intra-articular injection, there was significant reduction in osteophytes and increase in cartilage regeneration and joint space. Regenerative therapy was found to be more beneficial than conventional treatment without any adverse effects.
