Abstract
Event management companies are the once which organizes various events as per
the requirements of customers. Event management is a multi- crore industries with
events hosted regularly. The growth of sophisticated and mega companies have
brought forth a spurt of all the events with everything being a matter of class and
style. The success of an event management company ultimately depends upon the
customers satisfaction. Thus the present study was conducted with three objectives:
(i) To find out various type of services provided by event management companies in
Udaipur City.(ii) To study the organizational set up of event management
companies.(iii) To judge the level of satisfaction of customers through accomplished
events. For present investigation the samples were selected at two levels LEVEL ISelection
of event management companies and LEVEL II- Selection of
customers. At Level I twenty respondents from twenty selected event management
companies were selected. At Level II one hundred twenty customers were selected
to judge the level of satisfaction from accomplished events. The result of study
shows that there were eighty nine registered event management companies falling
under only two types of companies i.e. sixty two as sole proprietorship and twenty
seven as partnership company. The most common event organized by the selected
companies was found to be Wedding as the total number of the event scored highest
number up to 4198. Next in order was Theme Party (2840), Entertainment Shows,
(2341), Conferences (1446), Meeting /Seminar (940), Cocktail Party (864),
Social and Cultural events (856), Dance Party (771), and Trade Shows (372).
(ii)
Majority of the customers who have hired event management companies in
organizing three most popular events namely: Wedding, Theme Parties and
Entertainment shows were selected. Satisfaction level of customers derived from
selected attributes of events accomplished by event management companies was
judged. According to the customers the Food, Catering and services provided by
Florist were found to be extremely satisfied with a MWS 4.45, 4.26 and 4.03
respectively. Further, it was reported by the customers that in case of Photography
(MWS: 3.91), Decoration (MWS: 3.76), Selection of Venue (MWS: 3.69), Orchestra
and Anchorer (MWS: 3.24) the services provided were satisfied. As far as the
services provided with respect to Designing invitation card and Transportation the
customers were neutral with a MWS 2.80 for each service. Most of the customers
were extremely satisfied with the various characteristics of the employees in
organizing the event. The knowledge of the employees scored the highest MWS i.e.
4.79. In case of service quality the calculated MWS was found to be 3.91 which
show the customers were satisfied with the quality services provided by event
management companies.
