Abstract
PMJDY is sound know financial insertion service started by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Accounts opened under PMJDY are being opened with Zero balance in any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank-Mitra) outlet. Special benefits under PMJDY scheme are like interest on deposit, accidental insurance cover of Rs. 1 lakh, no minimum balance required in account, life insurance cover of Rs. The study was undertaken in administrative area of MPUAT in Girwa and Vallabhanagar tehsil on 100 beneficiaries of total ten villages. Findings of study concluded that 60.00 % beneficiaries were found in the core age group (30-63 years) and maximum (44.00%) beneficiaries were illiterate, only fourteen % responded were graduate or above sophisticated. There was 75.00 % of the entire trial was occupied in agriculture. It was found that greater part (76.00 %) of the beneficiaries fell in average level knowledge cluster and they obsessed good knowledge about the feature like ‘Business correspondent provided the knowledge about PMJDY’ and ‘PMJDY started in 2014’. The findings comes out that age, land holding, family structure, profession and earnings from Vallabhanagar tehsil were found to be non significantly associated with the knowledge of respondents of PMJDY. Mainstream of the beneficiaries i.e. 64.00 % had average level of constrict. In case of common restraints, ‘poorer sophistication level of the people is the major constrict and in case of administrative constraints it was revealed that ‘the scheme is not so popular, so there is need to popularizing the scheme to increase beneficiaries’, whereas, in financial constraints, ‘banks are giving very less interest on saving under this scheme’ was the mainly severe financial constraints. In case of social constraints, ‘there are no any special benefits for lower income group or BPL group’ was most severe constraints. Similarly, ‘bank staff is not trained to help in assisting the people more effectively’ was most severe technical constraint. Majority of beneficiary respondents suggested that ‘awareness programmes on regular basis should be started’ and was ranked first. Besides, ‘involvement of local leader s to make the people aware of this programme’ suggestion was also given by respondents and was 2nd.
