Abstract
The emergence of Canine Parvovirus and Feline panleukopenia virus in canine and feline population has prompted inputs particularly in the areas of diagnosis, as infection rates have been found to increase in the recent past globally and in India and early detection of CPV and FPV during such periods is very important to initiate appropriate diagnostic and prophylactic measures. Vaccines against CPV and FPV has at times resulted in vaccination failure due to introduction of newer antigenic variants.
