Abstract
The present investigation, "Effect of planting density of sunflower
intercropped with redgram on light use efficiency of intercropping system under
rainfed conditions", was carried out at the Agricultural College Farm, Pune,
during kharif, 1991. The experiment was laidout in a randomized block design
with four replications. Six cropping systems, viz., sole sunflower, sole redgram,
intercroppings of 2 SF (45 x 15 cm) + 2 RG, 2 SF (45 x 22.5 cm) + 2 RG, 2 SF (45
x 30 cm) + 2 RG, 2 SF (45 x 45 cm) + 2 RG were under study. The gross and net
plot size was 5.4 x 5.4 m and 3.6 x 3.6 m, respectively. The various growth
observations were recorded at an interval of 14 days from the 28t h day after
sowing onwards. The micrometeorological observations were recorded at an
interval of 7 days from the 20t h day after sowing.
