Abstract
Feeding value of rapeseed meal (RSM) was studied by including it at 0, 5,10, 15 and 20% levels in isocaloric and isonitrogenous broiler rations. Lower weight gain (P<0.01) was observed in broilers fed 20% RSM. Similar trend was followed in feed consumption. The heart and liver size was increased in all experimental groups and the thyroid gland weight increased in 15 and 20% group as compared to control group. It was concluded that RSM up to 15% can be included in the commercial broiler ration without adverse effect in the zootechnical performance, blood biochemical parameters and carcass characteristics.
