Abstract
ABSTRACT
Employee welfare is an important feature of industrial relations and is a vital
ingredient in smooth employer-employee relations. Employers offer extra incentives in the
form of employee welfare schemes on order to increase employee welfare and to make it
possible to persuade workers to accept mechanisation. Sometimes employers use employee
welfare as a tool to minimise the effect of the influence of outside agencies on their
employees.
This study followed a quantitative approach. Instrument used for the perception of
employee welfare measures was based on a questionnaire, which was built on primary data
from respondents and secondary data from books, journals, records, registers and web sites.
The study analysed the most critical variable like Employee Satisfaction, Benefits from the
Company, Safety and Friendly Work Environment, and Support from the Employer. Simple
and multiple linear regression analysis were performed to identify the significant or nonsignificant
relationship / difference between the variables which helps to verify the research
hypotheses.
