Abstract
A field experiment was carried out with ten treatments replicated thrice in Randomized Block Design (RBD) during kharif season in the year 2013-14 at College of Agriculture, Bheemarayanagudi, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur. Among the various treatments, T10-50 % more NPK + foliar spray of Fe2SO4 @ 0.5 % + ZnSO4 @ 0.5 % + Boron @ 0.2 % recorded significantly highest seed yield per plant (111.64 g), seed yield per plot (20.32 kg) and seed yield (44.38 q/ha) followed by T9-40 % more NPK + foliar spray of FeSO4 @ 0.5 % + ZnSO4 @ 0.5 % + Boron @ 0.2 %, seed yield per plant (110.75 g), seed yield per plot (20.16 kg) and seed yield (44.02 q/ha). Whereas, the lowest seed yield per plant (88.64 g), seed yield per plot (16.13 kg) and seed yield (35.23 q/ha) was observed in control T1-RDF 120:75:40 NPK kg/ha + ZnSO4 @10 kg/ha + FYM @ 10 t/ha. For standardisation of screen aperture size for maize hybrid HEMA, a lab experiment was carried out with six treatments replicated thrice in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) during Rabi season in the year 2014-15 at College of Agriculture, Raichur, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur. T1 bottom screen (7.00 mm) recorded significantly highest seed recovery (76.11 %) and significantly lowest seed germination (94.77 %) with electrical conductivity (0.815 dsm-1), followed by T2 bottom screen (7.20 mm) recorded seed recovery (74.92 %) and germination percentage (96.63 %) with electrical conductivity (0.799dsm-1) and significantly lowest seed recovery is observed in T6 bottom screen (8.0 mm) recorded (70.46 %) with a highest germination percentage (97.96 %) and lowest electrical conductivity (0.793 dsm-1).
