Abstract
Cryopreservation technique allows to store cells at very low temperature for future use. For preservation of cells for long term storage, the addition of cryoprotective agents like dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) or glycerol and selection of suitable freezing and thawing rates was tried by Lovelock and Bishop (1959), Porterfield and Smith (1962) and Nachimuthu et al. (1992).
