Abstract
The field experiment entitled "Effect of on growth and yield of (Momordica charantia L.)” was conducted in the Research field of Department of Vegetable Science during Rabi-Summer of 2018-19 with Swarna Yamini variety of Bitter Gourd obtained from ICAR-RCER, Ranchi, Patna. Sixteen treatments such as (T1) - Control, (T2) Panchagavya (3%), (T3) Humic acid (0.1%), (T4) sea weed extract (1.5 ml /L), (T5) Brassinolide (500 ppm), (T6) Panchagavya (3%) + Humic acid (0.1%), (T7) Panchagavya (3%) + sea weed extract (1.5 ml / L), (T8) Panchagavya (3%) Brassinolide (500 ppm), (T9) Humic acid (0.1%) + sea weed extract (1.5 ml /L), (T10) Humic acid (0.1 %) + Brassinolide (500 ppm), (T11) Sea weed extract (1.5 ml/L) + Brassinolide (500 ppm), (T12) Panchgavya (3%) + Humic acid (0.1%) + seaweed extract (1.5 ml/L), (T13) Panchagavya (3%) + Humic acid (0.1%) + Brassinolide (500 ppm), (T14) Sea weed extract (1.5 ml/L) + Brassinolide (500 ppm) + Humic acid (0.1%), (T15) Seed weed extract (1.5 ml/L) + Brassinolide (500 ppm) + Panchagavya (3%), (T16) Panchagavya (3%) + Humic acid (0.1%) + Sea weed extract (1.5 ml/L) + Brassinolide (500 ppm) were applied to bitter gourd during the experiment. Normal recommended cultural practices were followed during the course of investigation and the effect of different treatments on vegetative, sex expression, flowering, number of fruits per plant, yield per plot etc. were recorded during the course of investigation. It was observed that T16 was the best treatment which recorded vine length (4.32 m), internodal length (7.10 cm), number of primary branches per plant (11.90). number of fruits per plant (30.4) , yield per plant (1.58kg) and yield per ha (17.53 t/ha) followed by T!5 which recorded vine length (4.10 m), internodal length (7.23 cm), number of primary branches per plant (12.45), number of fruits per plant (28.80), yield per plant (1.56 kg) and yield per ha (17.33 t/ha) followed by T13 which recorded vine length (3.89), intermodal length (7.14) , number of primary branches per plant (10.45), number of fruits per plant (26.42), yield per plant(1.45kg) and yield per ha (16.10 ). However, T1 recorded the lowest value for vine length(3.20), internodal length (5.82), number of primary branches per plant (8.68), number of fruits per plant (20.52) and yield per plant(1.20) and yield per hectare (13.33 t/ha). From the above findings, it was observed that T15 with the application of Sea weed extract (1.5 ml/L) + Brassinolide (500 ppm) + Panchagavya (3%) was best in producing yield of 17.33 t/ha along with increasing other desirable yield attributing characters with a B : C ratio of 2.89.
