Abstract
Encapsulation protects the probiotics and increases their livability on
exposure to unfavourable processing and storage temperatures and
gastrointestinal pH. Hence, an in vitro study was undertaken in the
Department of Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary College and Research
Institute, Namakkal to evaluate the encapsulation efficiency of the probiotic
bacteria Lactobacillus Iactis and Bifidobacter bifidum with sodium alginate and
chitosan.
