Abstract
A biological trial was carried out to study sodium butyrate (SB) as a substitute
for antibiotic in broiler chicken ration. The trial consisted of six experimental groups
with twelve replicates, each containing six chicks. The experimental groups were two
levels of coated (0.09 % and 0.18 %) and uncoated SB (0.03 % and 0.06 %) without
antibiotic and control diet with and without antibiotic (Oxytetracycline - 50 ppm)
supplementation. The trial was carried out in deep litter pen for 42 days.
