DEVELOPMENT OF RAPID MOLECULAR TECHNIQUES FOR DETECTION OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS AND ITS ENTEROTOXIN GENES IN MEAT

Abstract
A study was developed to assess the prevalence of S. aureus, its antibiotic susceptibility pattern and enterotoxin gene profiles in a total of 240 meat samples (60 each of chicken, pork, mutton and beef) marketed in retail outlets of different zones of Chennai viz., north, central and south.
