Abstract
Despite excellent teaching and learning resources, some students academically perform better than others, while others fare dismally poor. With this background, the present study was conducted to explore and identify the personal and institutional factors that influence the academic performance of B.V.Sc. & A.l-l. students of TANUVAS. Stratified random sampling procedure was adopted to select 280 students from TANUVAS-Veterinary colleges viz., Madras Veterinary College, Chennai, Veterinary College and Research Institutes at Namakkal, Tirunelvcli and Orathanadu to collect the primary data through personal interview using structured pre-tested interview schedules. Apart from studying the personal profile of the sample students, psychological characteristics towards study and institutional factors were also analyzed in the study.
