Abstract
In veterinary medicine use of blood products is increasing day by day. With the availability of newer techniques, it becomes feasible now for preparation of blood components/products, ln human medicine most of the blood components/products are prepared by apheresis. Aphersis is being introduced to veterinary practice in recent years. With the limited or scarcely available canine blood donors, each available donor has to be efficiently used Apheresis allows harvesting of several blood components from a single donor and it will benefit many recipients. In this backdrop, a study was undertaken with the objectives of assessing the procedure related variables, apheresis parameters, donor related variables and collection yield in canine apheresis so as to develop optimization strategies for canine clinical apheresis.
