Abstract

A study was undertaken to analyze the economic efﬁciency of backyard goat fanning, with the objectives to study the management practices, gender involvement in backyard goat rearing practices; to assess the economic efﬁciency of goat production and to quantify the economic loss due to kid mortality. The data were collected from 180 sample farmers by multi-stage random sampling technique from Thanjavur, Thiruvarur and Nagapattinamdistricts of Tamil Nadu.
