Abstract

Normal visions in dogs were of great signiﬁcance because of the purpose for which dogs are maintained. The proper diagnosis of dogs suffering from primary hereditary cataract (HC) will help for the better method of treatment and for breeding purpose. The present study was carried out in dogs which were brought to Madras Veterinary College Hospital with a complaint of cataract. Blood samples from a total of 38 dogs belonging to 17 different breeds (13 exotic and four indigenous) were collected.
