Evaluation Of Heat Tolerance Potential by the Expression Of HSP-70 mRNA In Different Chicken Strains Through Thermal Conditioning

Abstract
Ninety chicks from each strain (Aseel, Nandanam chicken-4, Nandanam broiler-3 and Naked neck) were randomly assigned as three treatment groups with three replicates. Treatment one (T1) served as the control group reared under ambient temperature for a period of 12 weeks. Treatment two (T2) were exposed to thermal stress at 37“C for 4 hours and Treatment three (T3) were exposed to thermal stress at 39"C for 2 hours. Birds were exposed to thermal conditioning during O-14 days of age (first thermal conditioning) and 29-42 days of age (second thermal conditioning), apart from the exposure periods birds reared under ambient temperature. At the end of 12th week, control birds divided into two groups (i.e.) one group as unexposed control and another one for sudden heat exposure
