Abstract
A study was undertaken in the coastal agro-ecosystem of North
Karnataka with the objective of identifying soil fertility constraints usin g

GIS technique and the response of rice to these constraints an d
biofertilizers in Mirjan village of Kumta taluk. Soil samples were an a lysed
for N, P, K a n d Zn and mapped using GIS technique . Soil fertility maps
revealed th a t major portion of th e study area wa s deficient in available N,
P, K and Zn.
