Abstract
Crataevareligiosa is a common medicinal herb in India, belongs to the family Capparidaceae. Dried bark of the plant was procured and ground to a fine powder. Aqueous and ethanolic extracts were prepared.The percentage yields of aqueous and ethanolic extracts were 9.9%& 2.12% respectively. Qualitative analysis of both the extracts revealed the presence of saponins, flavonoids, quinones and terpenoids. Quantitative analysis of the extracts performed with the help of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) showed the presence of different components.It also revealed that ethanolic extract of C. religiosacontain high concentration of lupeol of 99.52 %
