Abstract
Effect of Phosphorus and Bio-fertilizers on Productivity of Black gram [Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper] A field experiment entitled “Effect of Phosphorus and Bio-fertilizers on Productivity of Black gram [Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper]” was conducted on clay loam soils having medium fertility status (226.7 kg N, 19.4 kg P2O5 and 305.4 kg K2O ha-1) at Instructional Farm, Department of Agronomy, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur during kharif 2017. The experiment consisted of 12 treatments combinations consisted of three phosphorus levels (0, 20 and 40 kg P2O5 ha-1) and four different bio-fertilizers (control, carrier based PSB, liquid biofertilizer and carrier based PSB + liquid biofertilizer). These 12 combinations were evaluated under factorial randomized block design with three replications. Black gram cultivar (PU-1) was taken as test crop. The results revealed that application of 40 kg P2O5 ha-1 significantly enhanced plant height, dry matter accumulation plant-1 20 DAS, 50 DAS and at harvest, number of nodules at 50 % flowering (45.50), chlorophyll content at 50 % flowering(2.93 mg g-1) and yield attributes viz. pods plant-1 (37.28), seeds pod-1 (6.14) and seed yield (1031.46 kg ha-1), haulm yield (1260.22 kg ha-1) and biological yield (2291.68 kg ha-1) were recorded. The nitrogen and phosphorus uptake in seed (36.64 and 4.36 kg ha-1), haulm (20.02 and 2.92 kg ha-1) and total (56.66 and 7.28 kg ha-1), status of nitrogen (347.87 kg ha-1) and phosphorus (25.71 kg ha-1) in soil after harvest of crop recorded highest. The 20 kg P2O5 level was at par with 40 kg P2O5 in LAI at 50 % flowering, test weight, seed yield plant-1 and nutrient content in (nitrogen and phosphorus) seed and haulm. Harvest index was non significant effect at 40 kg P2O5 ha-1 level. The highest net return (` 36146 ha-1) and B C ratio (1.39) were recorded at 40 kg P2O5 ha-1 level. * Research scholar, Department of Agronomy, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. **Professor, Department of Agronomy, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. The seed treatment with biofertilizer (liquid biofertilizer + carrier based PSB) significantly increased the plant height ( 20 DAS and at harvest), number of nodules at 50 % flowering (45.33), leaf area index (3.19), chlorophyll content (2.94 mg g-1) and yield attributes viz. pods plant-1 (37.39), seeds pod-1 (6.48) seed yield (1041.83 kg ha-1), haulm yield (1273.41 kg ha-1) and biological yield (2315.24 kg ha-1) were recorded. The nutrient content viz. nitrogen in haulm (1.567 %), phosphorus in seed (0.410 %) and haulm (0.233 %), and also nitrogen and phosphorus uptake in seed, haulm and total were significantly increased. The seed treatment with biofertilizer (liquid biofertilizer + carrier based PSB) was at par with liquid biofertilizer in plant height at 50 DAS (45.70 cm), dry matter accumulation at 20 DAS (2.35 g plant-1), 50 DAS (12.74 g plant-1) and at harvest (24.59 g plant-1). The seed yield plant-1 (4.55 g) 1000- seed weight (44.34 g), protein content in seed (21.03 %), nitrogen content in seed (3.500 %) and phosphorus status of soil after harvest of crop (23.71 kg hac-1) which were at par with LB. The seed treatment with biofertilizers did not significant affect the harvest index and nitrogen status of soil after harvest of crop. The highest net return (` 37616 ha-1) and B C ratio (1.49) were recorded with carrier based PSB + liquid biofertilizer and followed by liquid biofertilizer (` 29371 ha-1), (1.17).
