Sustainability of Groundnut Production in Agro-climatic Zone IIIa of Rajasthan

Abstract
There is acute need as well as vast scope of increasing oil seed production in India. Among the major oil seed crops groundnut is the most important oil seed crop and occupy a premier position with regard to both area and production. In Rajasthan, during 2005-06, the total area under groundnut was 0.32 million hectare with production of 0.49 million tonnes and productivity 1549 kilogram per hectare but according to package practice, potential yield of groundnut is 1600 kilogram per hectare, even to maintain this productivity level, the use of inputs is being increased year by year.
