Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Effect of Calcium Chloride and Gibberellic acid on shelf life of Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) fruits” was conducted jointly at Date Palm Research Centre, Plant Biotechnology Centre and Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Beechwal, Bikaner during August 2017. In the experiment, Khalal (Doka) stage freshly harvested fruits of date palm variety Barhee were treated with different concentrations of CaCl2 (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% ) and GA3 (0, 25, 50 and 75 ppm) and stored in polyethylene bags at 5ºC. The observations on the stored fruits were recorded after every 5th day of storage upto 15th day.
