Abstract
The genotype environment interaction is a measure concern for stability analysis in multi environment trails. Numbers of statistical methods have been developed to analyses genotype environment interaction and identifying the stable genotype. However, the literature on comparisons of stability analysis model is scanty. The present study therefore was undertaken to compare some stability analysis modes and influence of error variance on the stability of genotype. For this purpose, data was collected from the experiment conducted at NRRI farm, Cuttack from 2010 to 2013 in RBD with three replications. Nine genotypes of rice were grown in rabi season at three different sowing dates for four consecutive years from 2010-2013. The genotypes were Annada, Satabdi, Naveen, WITA12, Lalat, MTU1010, IR64, Vandana, Ratna. The yield data of these genotypes are taken for analysis purpose. Four stability analysis models i.e. Shukla’s stability variance model, Finlay-Wilkinson model Eberhart Russell model and AMMI model were used to evaluate these nine genotypes of rice in order to determine the effect of error variance on the genotype stability and identifying the stable genotype. The result shows that different genotypes are stable in different models in different years. In this study, in 2010 Vandana is the most stable according to Shukla’s stability variance model but for other three model Lalat is stable. For the year 2011 and 2012 Vandana is stable genotype by Shukla’s stability variance model but in other model Satabdi is most stable. In 2013 Lalat is the most stable genotype by Finlay- Wilkinson, Eberhart-Russell and AMMI model but according to Shukla’s stability variance model Naveen is stable. Satabdi and Lalat are stable genotypes in almost all models during 4 years. Ratna is unstable genotype among nine genotypes. Different models have different AIC values in different years. According to AIC values in the year 2010 and 2011 Finlay Wilkinson model is best fit model. But in 2012 and 2013 Eberhart- Russell model has minimum AIC value so for these 2 years this model is best fit for genotype stability. Finlay-Wilkinson model ranks first in analysing the stability of the genotype and Shukla’s stability variance model ranks last for stability analysis.
