Abstract
Studies were conducted to know the effect of integrated nutrient management on growth, flowering and yield of gerbera (Gerbera jamasonii B.Hooker F.) Var. Rosalin under naturally ventilated polyhouse condition during 2013-2014 at Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi. The results showed that the treatment comprising T2 (75 per cent RDF+ Glomus fasciculatum + Trichoderma harzianum + Panchagavya +Amrut pani + Dry mulch+Agnihothra ash) had significantly improved the flowering and yield attributes. The growth parameters viz., plant height significantly highest in the treatment comprising RDF + FYM (T1) (103.50cm) and number of leaves per plant, leaf area per plant were significantly highest (44.40),(138.17cm2) in the treatment comprising RDF + Vermicompost (T7) and plant spread was significantly highest in the treatment T2 (16.67cm) had found to be maximum at 120 days after planting and flowering parameters viz., minimum number of days taken for full flowering (110.10 days), maximum stalk length (53.00 cm), flower diameter (10.12 cm), number of flowers per plant (33.07) and flower yield per m2 (199.73) were found to be highest in T2 treatment. The maximum vase life (12.34 days), highest net returns (Rs. 3,83,323) and cost: benefit ratio (1:2.23) per 560 m2 were recorded in the treatment T2 (75 per cent RDF+ Glomus fasciculatum + Trichoderma harzianum + Panchagavya +Amrut pani + Dry mulch+Agnihothra ash). The available nitrogen, phosphorus content in soil and leaf nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content were also maximum in T2 treatment at twelve months after planting. Soil total microbial population (bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes) and beneficial microbial population Glomus fasciculatum, Trichoderma harzianum were found to be maximum in T2 treatment at one year after planting. The treatment T5 (Glomus fasciculatum + Trichoderma harzianum + Panchagavya +Amrut pani + Dry mulch + Agnihothra ash) is on par with T2 treatment.
