Abstract
Educational research is the scientific field of study that examines education and learning processes, human attributes, contribution of organizations and institutions that shape educational outcomes. It is the scientific study of problems related to education and finding a solution to them. Present work is related to educational research in heat transfer which is mainly focused on innovative teaching methods and making teaching more interesting using technology as compared to conventional teaching methods. So educational research in heat transfer is simply an effort to keep heat transfer course relevant and vibrant. An attempt has been made to transform teaching and learning using technology to provide quality learning environment. It is an effort to assist undergraduate students in understanding the fundamentals of heat transfer while exposing them to modern computational, visualization and design techniques. In the present work Visual Basic has been used as a programming tool to solve the problems related to heat transfer course. Different modules are prepared using Visual Basic 2010 as an attempt to cover the heat transfer subject in which problems related to conduction, convection and radiation have been discussed in detail. Each module consists of graphic user interface that includes full colour visualization, straight forward user input and thorough documentation, which makes Visual Basic an efficient tool for heat transfer study. It is an attempt to go one step ahead of the conventional teaching methods.
