Abstract
The area of Dholka taluka (Bhal-Nal) though small, has several problems for its maximum crop production. These are of particular importance for efficient soil management because of its inadequate drainage, soil salinity and/or sodicity, semi-arid climate and poor quality underground water for irrigation purpose. With a view to obtain the information on accumulation, type of salts, extent of salinity and/or sodicity, distribution of salts in soil profiles, seasonal effect on salt distribution, drainage characteristics of the soils and quality of well waters in Dholka taluka area in Ahmedabad district (Gujarat State), the present investigation was carried out.
