Abstract
A 9 months old Japanese quail revealed a yellowish to red  rm, circumscribed, well demarcated and elevated nodule of 5 mm in diameter in the ventral abdomen. On histopathological examination, the cutaneous nodule revealed in ltration of foamy macrophages with an eccentric nucleus, multinucleated giant cells and varying degree of lymphocytic in ltration in the dermis. A large number of needle shaped cholesterol clefts were also noticed. Few of heterophils and eosinophils were scattered throughout the mass. The condition was diagnosed as cutaneous xanthoma.
