ADAPTABILITY OF NEWCASTLE DISEASE VIRUSES ISOLATED FROM DESI CHICKEN TO BHK21 CELLS

Abstract
The existing embryo adapted vaccines pose field problems in the form of contaminating avian pathogens and in bulk antigen production. Use of heterologous cell systems and a local strain will help to overcome these problems. The present study describes the adaptability of two velogenic isolates from desi chicken to BHK21 (Razi) cell line to evolve a suitable candidate virus for vaccine production.
