Abstract
Even today, in the highly developed industrial countries, agriculture plays a major role as supplier of raw materials for industries and commerce its basic role in suppling food, clothing and shelter. Therefore, the welfare of a country to a large extent is dependent upon the prospority of its agriculture. India's new agriculture strategy aims at stepping up of crop yields per unit area per unit time, through the adoption of new agricultural technology and various farming practices. Technical advancement and all co-ordinated efforts made at national and state level in the regard have completely revolutionised agriculture for increased crop production in our country.
