Abstract
A number of controlled breeding programs have been developed for
synchronizing cstrus in buffaloes, The faílure of buffaloes to show overt signs of
estrus, together with the wide variation in duration of estrus, are major constraints to
the broader adoption of AI for genetic improvement in buffaloes.
