Abstract
Performance of vembur sheep breed under farm ( Instructional Livestock
Farm Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli ) and
farmers field in its home tract (Thoothukudi and Virudhunagar districts) was
carried out. Vembur sheep are tall animals and had moderately long body. The
Coat is predominantly white with varying degrees of red colour and occasionally
tan or fawn patches distributed over the body.
