Abstract
Smears ofintestinal scrapings wereprepared from poult sheep, goats and calves during necropsy. They were stained with Glemsa and examined for the presence of Eimeria sp. In positive smears sexual and/or asexual forms of the parasite could be traced. The sequential development of various intracellular stages could be traced. The significance of the cytological finding in relation to the life cycle of the parasite and its pathogenesis and the utility of this technique as a diagnostic tool have been discussed.
