Abstract
An investigation was carried out to study the biochemical and molecular characterizations of 18 different genotypes of grain amaranth procured from various research stations viz. 15 genotypes from NBPGR (New Delhi), two from GAU Sardarkrushinagar and one from Mandore (Rajasthan). These genotypes were screened through analysis of proximate composition for various biochemical parameters, isozymes study, seed protein analysis through SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and RAPD analysis. Biochemical analysis was carried out for % moisture from seeds as well as flour, TSS, starch, total crude protein, oil, FAA, minerals like calcium, sodium and potassium, various isozymes viz. esterase, peroxidase and acid phosphatase and seed protein through electrophoresis
