Abstract
Description
A study was carried out in Nandanam – II turkey growers from 7 to 16 weeks of age. Two hundred numbers of 6 weeks old turkey poults were randomized into four treatment group of 50 each T1 (control), T2 (10g Azolla/bird/day), T3 (20g Azolla/bird/day) and T4 (30g Azolla/bird/ day) with two replicates of 25 each. In this study, the biweekly body weight of T3 and T4 are higher than control. The feed consumption has been considerably reduced in groups fed with Azolla supplemented diet. The feed ef ciency of turkey growers in T2 (3.31), T3 (3.10) and T4 (2.93) is better when compared to T1 (3.53). From this study, it is concluded that supplementation of Azolla improves feed ef ciency without affecting the production performance of the turkey birds.
